Day 479 Swords of Iron – “With you through the fire”

Chaim starts by talking about what a roller coaster of emotions Israelis are on, learning small details about the hostages, hearing that some will be released soon but also learning about the conditions Hamas was able to extract in exchange for releasing them.

Chaim also mentions the reactions to these events around the world, including from Western governments like Ireland and even the UN. Chaim says there’s something desperately wrong with the world when the diabolical hatred of Hamas is tolerated and even celebrated.

Next Chaim mentions the fear he had that he might have to go back and fight Hezbollah in Lebanon again, but at the last minute, the cease-fire got a 30 day extension and despite some clashes, it appears to be holding. It is scheduled to continue until February 18th, at which point Hezbollah is supposed to have withdrawn north of the Litani River and the Lebanese National Army is supposed to have been deployed between that river and the Israeli border to prevent a reinitiation of hostilities.

At the same time, Chaim says that friends of his in Gaza are observing the large-scale movement of Gazan residents back into the northern sector of the Strip.

Chaim mentions Hamas leader Mohammed SInway, brother of Yahya Sinwar, who is 50 years old and has no other ambition in life except to continue the war against Israel and by extension, the war against the God of the Bible.

At the same time, Hamas has released a list of hostages who will be released soon. Most are still alive, but some are not. Amidst all this, US President Donald Trump has floated an idea to allow hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza to move to Egypt, Jordan or possibly other countries while the rubble is being cleared away and things are being rebuilt there.

This idea has been met with outraged opposition from many quarters, including Hamas itself. But so far no one is asking the people of Gaza what they think about it, although many people are speaking up to say what they think the people of Gaza should think about it.

There is also a lot of discussion about who should rule Gaza going forward, as Hamas is clearly not qualified to do so, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone else who wants to except the Palestinian Authority, who probably don’t have the capacity to do so.

But Chaim says that the IDF is staying on alert for whatever might happen next. It is also somewhat encouraging to see that the world is finally starting to wake up to see the hypocrisy and double standards of the UN, not to mention their incompetence and unreliability.

Chaim also laments the general decline of ethics and morality in the world, and he reminds his viewers that morals and ethics were gifts to humanity from the Jewish People, who received them from God Himself.

In this context, he quotes Isaiah 41:10-11; Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ “Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.

(Day 484) Swords of Iron – “Home sweet Home”

Chaim starts out by saying that the hostage release mechanism that is part of a broader cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip is difficult to accept, since it includes the release of so many high-profile terrorists from Israeli prisons. It is also difficult to watch the barbaric conditions under which some of the Israeli hostages are being released.
