Swords of Iron Day 1067: The IDF Is Ready, and Our Enemies Know It
It really is great to see our Chief of Staff getting involved with the troops. On Swords of Iron Day 1067, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir made a surprise visit to IDF training grounds in the Negev, where our soldiers and officers train. There he saw excellence, unity, and preparedness. According to reports from the visit, he said the IDF is fit, prepared, and ready to defend Israel. He also made it clear that the army can respond rapidly and strike with force against anyone who tries to harm us.
His message is clear. Anyone targeting Israeli citizens anywhere in the world should know that Israel will act decisively. In other words, our enemies will pay a heavy and immediate price.
That kind of readiness is not a slogan. In fact, it is one of the hardest lessons of October 7. The surprise drill tested how our forces would respond to a sudden war on several fronts at once, because the goal is simple. Israel can never again let an enemy catch it unprepared.
Hamas Terror Cell With a Rocket Caught in the Jordan Valley
Hamas cells are still active. For example, a joint operation by the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Israel Police in the Aqraba area of the northern Jordan Valley, right near where I live, thwarted a Hamas terror cell. Security forces arrested ten terrorists and seized a rocket, an M16 rifle, and a large quantity of explosives for making bombs.
Think about that for a moment. A rocket in the hands of a terror cell, a short drive from Israeli homes. That is why our security forces keep working day and night, and why the quiet you hear about in the news is never really quiet.
Swords of Iron Day 1067: Hamas Keeps Violating the Gaza Ceasefire
In Gaza, meanwhile, terrorists are still violating the ceasefire, including an explosive attack on an IDF vehicle. In response, the IDF struck Hamas targets.
After all, a ceasefire only works when both sides keep it. Hamas has never kept its word, so Swords of Iron Day 1067 is one more reminder that we cannot trust terrorists to police themselves.
Iran, Espionage, and Radicalization Inside Israel
Iran is also trying to subvert Israel through espionage, recruiting people inside our country to spy for the regime. At the same time, radical ideology keeps reaching our young people. This week, prosecutors indicted a young man of just 19 from the Galilee for joining ISIS and pledging allegiance to the terror group. Reports say it was the fourth such case in a matter of days.
This is what propaganda and extremist ideology can do to a young mind. In other words, our enemies do not only fight with rockets and tunnels. They also fight on screens, in chat groups, and in the minds of teenagers.
Ridiculous: Mamdani Hands the 9/11 Pen to a Former al Qaeda Defense Lawyer
And I can’t believe what is happening in New York. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing backlash after he signed executive orders marking September 11 as a citywide Day of Remembrance and Service. Then he handed the ceremonial pen to his chief counsel, Ramzi Kassem.
Kassem previously served as a defense attorney for Ahmed al Darbi, a Guantanamo detainee who pleaded guilty to war crimes charges over al Qaeda plots, including the bombing of the French oil tanker Limburg. On top of that, al Darbi’s sister married one of the 9/11 hijackers. Of all the people in New York, that is who received the pen. It is ridiculous.
For families who lost loved ones on September 11, this is deeply disturbing. We cannot forget the danger of jihadist ideology. So don’t put your head in the sand. Don’t be weak, and don’t be a fool. Remember what happened.
Swords of Iron Day 1067: Hezbollah’s Fortress on the Ali Taher Ridge
Meanwhile, look at the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, near Nabatieh and less than an hour from Israel’s northern border. Hezbollah had built an enormous terror infrastructure there, with bombs, drone factories, and underground facilities. Its purpose was to attack and kill people in northern Israel. However, after a long siege, the IDF now holds the ridge and continues to clear its tunnels.
We must deal with these threats. Above all, we are not going back to the way things were before October 7, with our heads in the sand. The families of northern Israel deserve to live without a terror army sitting on the hills above them.
Approaching the Third Anniversary of October 7
The third anniversary of October 7 is approaching. We will remember those we lost, the families that terror tore apart, and the hostages Hamas dragged into Gaza. But we will also continue defending this country, because remembering without acting would dishonor them.
Psalm 16:8 and Why Israel Stands Firm
Psalm 16:8 says, “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
That verse is the heart of Swords of Iron Day 1067. Terror cells, rockets, spies, and propaganda will keep coming. Still, we will not be moved. Israel will remain here, and I hope the enemies of Israel hear me when I say that.
