Day 194 Swords of Iron- “Girls in Yahlom?”

Chaim begins the video by reminding his viewers that Aliyah Day is coming up, but here in Israel we’re fighting for our lives as we get attacked on 7 different fronts. He says that the Shi’tes of Iran and Hezbollah have an eschatological, end times worldview that says redemption will only come when they destroy Israel and America.

Chaim says there’s a lot of discussion online and elsewhere about what Israel should do, or not do, to respond to the Iranian attack last Sunday morning. It is definitely a miracle that this coalition came together, including Arab countries, to repel the attack.

Now there are all kinds of ways that Israel could respond and there are loud voices coming from all over the place giving their opinions about what the next step should be. Iran’s attack was definitely not just for show. They fired enough missiles at Israel to do a tremendous amount of damage, and Chaim says that we’re here to fulfill the promises of the Bible, not be destroyed by Persia.

He then switches his focus to the Ya’alom combat engineers unit he’s part of in the IDF, which just welcomed its first female recruits.

He says this is happening amidst an incredible narrative flow surrounding this attack. Many are condemning Iran but some are also defending Iran, saying that the missile attack was a legitimate act of self-defense following Israel’s targeting of IRGC Generals in a building near a diplomatic compound in Syria. Chaim says it’s very difficult to understand why anyone objects to Israel making this strike on these IRGC Generals who were meeting in Damascus with local terrorists to coordinate the transfer of weapons to use against Israel.

He also says that it’s time to start praying for Israeli leaders by name. He names Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as examples.

He says that as we approach Passover, it’s a time to be cleansed in our hearts to welcome in a new season.

He also reminds the viewers of the upcoming online Passover event at the Aliyah Return Center and he concludes by reading Exodus 15:2; The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

(Day 563) Swords of Iron – “Drive Terror Out”

Chaim starts by saying he remembers the day he got the call to come to his IDF reserve unit because the war was starting and he was needed. He talks about others he knows who did the same, even though many of them were very busy and had a lot going on, they all dropped what they were doing and ran to join their units. They all thought it would be a short war like so many others before it, but this war has lasted over a year and a half and there’s no end in sight.

(Day 562) Swords of Iron – “Fell in the line of duty”

Chaim starts by saying it’s always tragic when the IDF suffers casualties, and he honors Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, of Rahat, who was killed in action over the weekend. Several other soldiers were wounded in the attack, which occurred in an area that was believed to have been cleared of hostile actors, but Hamas had a tunnel that had not been demolished yet and some Hamas guys popped up out of that tunnel and fired an RPG at an IDF vehicle and then later as a rescue vehicle was headed towards the scene Hamas detonated an IED and inflicted more casualties.

(Day 561) Swords of Iron – “Name a Hero of yours”

Chaim starts the video by asking his viewers to leave a comment talking about who their heroes are. He then tells the story of one of his personal heroes, Fredreich Bonhoofer, who was a pastor in Germany who publicly stood against the Nazi regime and was also involved in the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in July 1944. His great legacy is that although he was a pacifist, he said that to not take action in the face of evil, and to not speak out in the face of evil, was to support evil and to become evil.
