Day 412 Swords of Iron – “800 heroic soldiers have fallen in the line of duty”

Chaim starts by rhetorically asking the question about what will stop Russia from massively resupplying Hezbollah with weapons and ammunition after Israel captured so much of it already. He says that there’s an obvious supply route of weapons from Russia to Syria and Hezbollah always just helps itself to these supplies whenever it needs to. That’s why Israel spends so much time bombing the supply routes in Syria, to prevent these weapons from reaching Hezbollah.

Chaim also mentions that the IDF has taken out many of the Hezbollah commanders and other personnel who were most capable of firing weapons into Israel. But Hezbollah also stores and even fires weapons from civilian areas, and even close to UN observation posts.

Chaim also discusses some of the ideas being floated to end this war, including a new UN Security Council Resolution that would build on UNSCR 1701 which ended the Second Lebanon War in 2006. The new proposed UNSCR 1559 would allow Israel to deal with with any Hezbollah violations of the Resolution but Hezbollah is flatly rejecting this, so they’re giving the IDF an opportunity to continue destroying their capabilities in southern Lebanon as long as they refuse to take the offer.

So Chaim says he’s skeptical that the negotiations will result in an end to the fighting any time soon, but he also says that Hezbollah is making a mistake, bowing to Iranian pressure not to take the deal being offered to them. He says that Israel is God’s land and Hezbollah is being foolish to continue shooting at us.

(Day 831) Swords of Iron – “Tik Tok”

Even though people in some places in Israel are preparing their bomb shelters, everything suddenly feels quiet—almost like it’s not going to happen. We know President Trump has said he believes the killing in Iran has stopped, or at least paused, and that he’s bought some time. But anyone who thinks they know what Trump will do, what America will do, or even what Israel will do—doesn’t really know. There is a lot happening behind the scenes.
