Day 411 Swords of Iron – “Jordan must choose a side”

Chaim starts the video by mentioning that it’s challenging to be deployed to the fight in both Gaza and Lebanon.

He also says that Hezbollah in Lebanon is firing a lot of rockets into Israel in an effort to improve their position in cease-fire talks. But there is talk that the internationally recognized government of Lebanon and Hezbollah have agreed to a US-sponsored cease-fire proposal, so Chaim is now back in Gaza waiting to see what will happen in the north.

But Chaim also wants to draw attention to the fact that Hezbollah is blatantly violating international law by firing weapons at civilian communities and homes and he wonders why no one anywhere is protesting against this.

He asks the rhetorical question to his viewers of what they’d want their government to do if someone launched a rocket that destroyed their house.

Then Chaim shifts the focus of his analysis to Jordan, where a Hamas-linked political party has taken 31 seats in the national parliament. This raises the prospect of Jordan coming under the increasing influence of a malign force which could lead to a situation on Israel’s eastern border very similar to what was built up in Gaza and also southern Lebanon.

Chaim cites the example of Iran, where a Western-friendly regime was replaced by a violently jihadist regime under the Islamic Revolution. This turned Iran from being an ally of Israel to being an enemy, and Chaim warns that something similar could happen in Jordan so we must keep our eyes on Jordan to try and prevent that from happening but also be ready to confront this if it does happen.

He concludes by talking about the conference he was part of which welcomed Douglas Murry and Ben Shapiro to Jerusalem to talk about speaking up for Israel and the truth. Chaim says they give all of us an example of the importance of speaking up on college campuses and elsewhere.

(Day 563) Swords of Iron – “Drive Terror Out”

Chaim starts by saying he remembers the day he got the call to come to his IDF reserve unit because the war was starting and he was needed. He talks about others he knows who did the same, even though many of them were very busy and had a lot going on, they all dropped what they were doing and ran to join their units. They all thought it would be a short war like so many others before it, but this war has lasted over a year and a half and there’s no end in sight.

(Day 562) Swords of Iron – “Fell in the line of duty”

Chaim starts by saying it’s always tragic when the IDF suffers casualties, and he honors Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, of Rahat, who was killed in action over the weekend. Several other soldiers were wounded in the attack, which occurred in an area that was believed to have been cleared of hostile actors, but Hamas had a tunnel that had not been demolished yet and some Hamas guys popped up out of that tunnel and fired an RPG at an IDF vehicle and then later as a rescue vehicle was headed towards the scene Hamas detonated an IED and inflicted more casualties.

(Day 561) Swords of Iron – “Name a Hero of yours”

Chaim starts the video by asking his viewers to leave a comment talking about who their heroes are. He then tells the story of one of his personal heroes, Fredreich Bonhoofer, who was a pastor in Germany who publicly stood against the Nazi regime and was also involved in the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in July 1944. His great legacy is that although he was a pacifist, he said that to not take action in the face of evil, and to not speak out in the face of evil, was to support evil and to become evil.
