ARC Israel Updates

Chaim begins by saying that these are very difficult times to be alive but that he also believes it will bring the redemption of humanity that the Bible speaks about.

He speaks about an attempted anti-Jewish pogrom at an airport in the predominantly Moslem Russian province of Dagestan, one of many manifestations of increased anti-Semitism all over the world. This also includes increasingly violent anti-Israel and anti-Jewish street demonstrations in many cities all over the US, Canada and Europe.

Chaim mentions that some of those protesters are saying that Israel shouldn’t be seeking to “take revenge” on the innocent civilians in Gaza for the terrible attack Hamas carried out against Israelis. But the current military operation against Hamas is not meant to be “revenge” but rather the removal of the threat Hamas poses to the security of Israel and also to the brutal tyranny they hold over these very “innocent people of Gaza” that protesters claim to care so much about.

Another question/accusation that is being made against Israel is that it “runs Gaza” and Chaim refutes that by explaining the historical process that occurred, in which it was actually Egypt that occupied and administered the Gaza Strip between 1948 and 1967. Israel administered Gaza from 1967 to 2005 when it withdrew completely from that territory and turned it over the the Palestinian Authority, who was violently ejected from power by Hamas in June of 2007.

Another common accusation is that Israel treats Gaza like “an open-air prison” but Chaim points out that 60,000 Gazans were allowed to enter Israel every day to work before the war started. Tens of thousands also entered and left the territory to fly out of Egyptian airports to Europe and elsewhere. But now Hamas really IS treating the territory like a prison, requiring people to stay in areas that Israel has warned will soon be zones of military conflict and even before that controlling every aspect of their lives.

Another accusation that Chaim addresses is that Israel is “making Gaza poor” but he points out that Hamas has stolen billions of dollars in aid that has been sent to help the Gazan people since coming to power in 2007. All the infrastructure that was there when Israel pulled out its citizens in 2005 has been destroyed, although it could have been used to make the territory very prosperous.

Next Chaim addresses the accusation that Israel is “committing war crimes in Gaza” but according to the relevant articles of the UN Charter, Israel’s use of military force to respond to an armed attack against its citizens is perfectly legal and legitimate. Hamas’ actions of murdering unarmed civilians, firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli cities, raping women, and killing children (sometimes in very gruesome ways) while at the same time embedding their military forces amongst Gaza’s civilian population so as to ensure they are hit by Israeli military strikes are all war crimes as defined by international law.

He reminds his viewers that although it’s difficult to call out lies and speak the truth when there are so many people who are militantly trying to silence those who do so, it’s never been more important as Israel’s survival, and by extension civilization itself, is on the line.

He then transitions to a soliloquy about why he believes the age of Redemption and the Return of the Messiah might be upon us. Even as the world grows darker, a spiritual awakening is happening among the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. This is being heralded in by musicians and prophetic voices which are reminding Israelis of who they are in the Lord.

He concludes by quoting Psalm 34:19-22; Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

(Day 627) Swords of Iron – “Going Ballistic on Beersheva”

Chaim starts by lamenting the destruction in Ber Sheva that was caused by a last-minute Iranian ballistic missile strike just before the cease-fire went into effect. But, he says, he’s glad to live in a country that cares about its citizens and works hard to protect them, even if sometimes the bad guys land a blow. On that note, Chaim gives some details that are known about what happened in Ber Sheva, including the facts that the missile that struck the building was one of a wave that Iran fired and many more lives could have been lost if people had not been in their bomb shelters.

(Day 625) Swords of Iron – “Kaboom!”

Chaim starts by cheering on the announcement by US President Donald Trump that the US has joined the war against Iran’s nuclear program, defending the free world against one of its most dangerous enemies by destroying the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear facilities.

(Day 619) Swords of Iron – “Remember We Didn’t Start This”

Chaim starts by acknowledging that these are difficult times in Israel, with incoming ballistic missiles and drones, cruise missiles and other weapons. Hundreds of people have been rendered homeless and at least 25 have been killed, while many more have been wounded. Israelis have had to run to their bomb shelters on several occasions over the past five days, and sometimes we have to stay there for extended periods, but it’s very important for us to stay safe.
