Swords of Iron Day 1086: The UN Obsession With Israel
I am on leave for the holiday, filming with the Sea of Galilee spread out below me and a shepherd’s staff still in my hand. Happy Sukkot. And even on a festival, the UN obsession with Israel does not take a single day off.
A Ceasefire Offer That Went Nowhere
Trump has reportedly rejected an Iranian proposal for a seven day ceasefire that included reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
If attacks resume, some believe they come after the American midterm elections. I am not placing any bets on that.
Nobody in this region can afford to blink right now.
And a seven day pause is not peace. It is a breathing space, and the side that asks for breathing space is usually the side that needs it most.
These Hills Changed Hands Before
Look at the water below me. This land has changed hands many times over.
Syria once held these hills. Syrian snipers fired down at our boats on that lake.
Today the upper Galilee is in Israeli hands, and families swim in that water without giving it a thought.
I do not take that for granted. The quiet here was bought, and it has to be maintained, whatever the UN obsession with Israel says about us.
What The Atlantic Says Netanyahu Was Told
The Atlantic reports that Abbas Kamel, then the head of Egyptian intelligence, warned Netanyahu before October 7 that Gaza was going to blow up and that economic concessions should be made. The same report says UAE leader Mohammed bin Zayed passed along a warning too.
Netanyahu says none of it is true.
I am not going to pretend I know whose account is accurate. What I will say is that this country deserves a full accounting of what was known and when it was known.
That reckoning is coming, and it should. It will happen here, in Hebrew, and not inside an institution shaped by the UN obsession with Israel.
The UN Obsession With Israel Is Not Bias Anymore
Bias is a tilt. What happens at the United Nations is a fixation.
Session after session, resolution after resolution, one country out of the entire world gets the microphone pointed at it.
It works like an echo chamber. Each speaker repeats the one before, and everybody walks out more convinced than they walked in.
This is antisemitism with a filing system and a seating chart.
Blue Helmets and the UN Obsession With Israel
Peacekeepers have stood in southern Lebanon for years while Hezbollah dug tunnels and moved rockets underneath them.
An interceptor was launched at a suspected aerial target near our troops just recently. Thank God our guys are safe, and no warnings sounded across the north.
But nobody should mistake a blue helmet for a shield. Some of the people wearing them are sympathetic to the very groups they were sent to contain.
Twenty Journalists Who Were Not Journalists
The Committee to Protect Journalists has reportedly acknowledged that more than twenty people it previously listed as journalists killed in Gaza were combatants, after Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad identified some of them as fighters.
Those names went into headlines, into casualty counts, into campaigns against this country, and straight into the UN obsession with Israel.
A correction never travels as far as the original number. That is precisely why the original number gets published so quickly.
Not everyone holding a camera in a war zone is a bystander.
What a Sukkah Actually Means
It is Sukkot, and I keep thinking about what a sukkah really is.
It is not the Mishkan, the great Tabernacle of the wilderness. It is a temporary dwelling. Thin walls, a roof you can see the stars through, built from the start to come down.
That is the entire lesson. Our security never came from the structure.

What Sukkot Says About the UN Obsession With Israel
Nehemiah says it this way. All the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths, and there was very great gladness. Also day by day he read in the book of the law of God.
We have been building these booths for thousands of years. Through exile, return, war, celebration and shaking, we are still here.
The UN obsession with Israel is loud. It is also temporary. These booths have outlasted every empire that ever wrote us off.
So to everyone celebrating with us, Happy Sukkot. Thank you for sharing these videos, supporting this land and standing with Israel.
The truth will prevail, and those who bless this land will be blessed.
