Swords of Iron Day 1089: Missiles, Rumors and Truth
I am filming from the north today, standing near the kind of weapons most people only read about. The Hezbollah rocket threat is not a talking point up here. It is the reason thousands of people still are not sleeping in their own beds.
The Hezbollah Rocket Threat Is Not Theoretical
Hezbollah holds weapons like the Fateh 110, carrying enormous warheads capable of severe destruction.
These are not the improvised rockets people picture when they hear the word rocket. They are guided, heavy and built to level a building rather than scare a neighborhood.
We have already seen exactly what they do.
Majdal Shams and the Hezbollah Rocket Threat
In the summer of 2024 a rocket struck the football field in Majdal Shams and killed twelve children and teenagers.
Hezbollah denied responsibility. Israel and the United States both know who fired it.
Twelve kids on a field. That is the whole argument, and nobody who says the north should simply absorb this has ever had to explain it to those parents.
What the Hezbollah Rocket Threat Did to the North
Thousands of people were evacuated. Homes and businesses were damaged. Schools closed. Whole families were uprooted for months that turned into years.
I do not want northern communities living under that again. Not next year, not ever.
I want them home, and I want them to stay home safely. That is the only definition of victory that counts up here.
Sukkahs in the Field Under the Hezbollah Rocket Threat
It is Sukkot, and the IDF has distributed thousands of sukkahs to soldiers.
Some are tactical and camouflaged so troops can keep the holiday while they are deployed. The army also handed out the four ceremonial species, the lulav, the hadas, the etrog and the aravah.
Even in a war, we hold onto our traditions. Especially in a war, honestly.
There is something about a camouflaged sukkah that tells you everything about this country.
Izz al Din Beik and What Precision Actually Means
The Hezbollah rocket threat is not the only thing we watch. We also cannot let our guard down in the south.
The IDF eliminated Izz al Din Beik, commander of Hamas’s northern Gaza Brigade, after he worked to rebuild its military capabilities.
Before the strike the IDF says it used precise munitions and aerial surveillance to reduce harm to civilians. That step happens before almost every strike, and it almost never gets reported.
People making accusations against our soldiers should understand what actually goes into the minutes before a target is engaged.
A Kidnap Alert on the Yellow Line
Intelligence has raised the alert level over a possible attempt to kidnap an IDF soldier along the Gaza yellow line.
They want another Gilad Shalit. Another bargaining chip to trade for hundreds of prisoners.
We are not going to let them have it. That lesson cost us far too much the first time, and the Hezbollah rocket threat in the north is already enough to carry.
The Argument Over What Netanyahu Was Told
There are new arguments over whether Netanyahu received warnings before October 7.
Netanyahu says he did not receive the specific warning now being reported. The UAE says intelligence is shared through professional national security bodies rather than handed to one leader.
Here is what I keep coming back to. October 7 was not caused by one person in one office. It was carried out by a terrorist organization that planned a massacre for years.
Sinwar and Hamas did this. Everything else is an argument about who should have seen it coming.
Twenty Four Hours to Genocide
I want to share something from former IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus and his new film, October 7, Death, Lies, and Videotape.
Hamas poured across the border, murdered about twelve hundred people and took two hundred and fifty one hostages.
And according to the film, accusations of genocide appeared barely twenty four hours later, before Israel had even retaliated.
Think about what that means. The verdict was written before the funerals.
It Never Ends With the Jewish People
So we stay vigilant, about the Hezbollah rocket threat and about everything else. We tell the truth. We remember exactly what happened and we refuse to let it be edited.
Antisemitism always begins with the Jewish people. It has never once ended with the Jewish people.
Every society that started there found out the hard way where it goes next.
He Shall Preserve Thy Going Out
Psalm 121 says it this way. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil, he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth, and even for evermore.
That is the promise I am holding onto tonight.
God will preserve us. Our families, our soldiers and this land.
