(Day 572) Swords of Iron – “Major Arson Attack”

Chaim starts out by giving a brief overview of the fire situation around Jerusalem. The bottom line is that it doesn’t look good, with the winds picking up and pushing the flames towards Jerusalem. Many people have had to evacuate their homes and thousands of acres of forested areas have already burned. This has led to the cancellation of many events meant to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Israel’s independence in 1948, which immediately follows the remembrance day for the soldiers who have been killed in action during Israel’s many conflicts as well as all the civilians killed in terrorist attacks.

(Day 571) Swords of Iron –  “So Many Fallen Heroes”

Chaim starts by saying it’s an honor to wear the uniform of the IDF and defend his country, and on Yom Ha’Yikaron, we honor the 25,420 who have been killed in action since 1860, when the modern State of Israel began to take casualties in the conflict against those who wished to snuff it out.

(Day 569) Swords of Iron – “Iran port bombed? If you curse Israel what happens?”

Chaim starts by asking a rhetorical question about what happens to people who come against God’s People. Then he starts talking about the massive explosion and fires at the port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday. Dozens of people were killed and many hundreds were injured in this incident. The Iranian authorities have said they’re not sure what caused the fires that detonated the sodium percholate which was being stored at the port. This substance is used in the solid fuel that is required to propel ballistic missiles and Iran has imported large quantities of it from China in recent months. Apparently it was stored at the port and somehow or other, it exploded, doing immense damage and also starting fires which did even more damage. The port, the most important port in Iran, used for civilian cargo, oil exports, and the Iranian Navy, was severely damaged and the adjascent city of Bandar Abbas also sustained damage.

(Day 568) Swords of Iron – “One Of My First Videos: Interview”

In this video, which is a re-broadcast of a video Chaim posted very early in the war, he is answering some questions that have been posed to him about what is going on in Israel, what the IDF is doing to prepare for operations in the Gaza Strip and how things are looking on the Israeli home front.

(Day 567) Swords of Iron – “Alive, But Missing An Arm”

Chaim starts by talking about Asaf Cafri, a soldier in a unit that served alongside the Ya’alom Combat Engineering unit that he is part of who was killed in action over the weekend. Chaim says a Hamas sniper got him as he was standing in the turret of his tank. Three other crew members of that same tank were also wounded in the incident, which occurred in a buffer zone that’s been set up by the IDF inside Gaza to keep Hamas away from the border with Israel.

(Day 566) Swords of Iron – “Remember and Arise”1

Chaim starts by talking about how it’s Holocaust Memorial Day in Israel, when the siren sounds and everything and everyone stops to honor the 6 million victims of the Holocaust. But all over the world, we’re seeing the growth of that same anti-Semitism which motivated the Holocaust. It’s still surging, even in democratically governed countries.

(Day 565) Swords of Iron – “Houthis Missile Attack Northern Israel”

Chaim starts by saying that it’s Holocaust Memorial Day coming up and there’s bad things still happening in Israel, including a ballistic missile attack from the Houthis in Yemen. This time it was aimed at the Haifa area, which is something new, but communities all over the northern part of the country heard the air raid sirens and had to run to the shelters.

(Day 564) Swords of Iron – “Appeasing Te**or”

Chaim starts by talking about how he hears calls for appeasement to terrorism, instead of standing up to it and speaking out against it. He talks about Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, whose home was attacked as he and his family were having their Passover Seder meal, despite his years of attempting to appease the radical progressive Left. The man who attacked his home by setting fire to it and attacking his family with a hammer said he was doing it to support the Palestinians, despite Shapiro having just days earlier given a $5 million grant to a mosque in the Philadelphia area.

(Day 563) Swords of Iron – “Drive Terror Out”

Chaim starts by saying he remembers the day he got the call to come to his IDF reserve unit because the war was starting and he was needed. He talks about others he knows who did the same, even though many of them were very busy and had a lot going on, they all dropped what they were doing and ran to join their units. They all thought it would be a short war like so many others before it, but this war has lasted over a year and a half and there’s no end in sight.
