Day 265 Swords of Iron – Tribal

Chaim starts the video by apologizing for his scratchy voice. He then proceeds to discuss the issue of tribalism. The scene cuts away briefly to show Chaim on a patrol in Gaza and telling his viewers that a Hamas sniper just killed on of his comrades. Then there is a short video from the north, where a civilian woman is filming a massive barrage of incoming rockets fired into Israel by Hezbollah.

Chaim says that in the Western mindset, there’s not much understanding of tribalism and he says that an example of it is the tremendous lengths that the IDF is willing to go to rescue Israeli hostages. He says that when he made Aliyah to Israel as a teenager he was very surprised to see the degree to which Israeli society is so close-knit and mutually supportive.

He quotes the Native American chieftain Tecumseh as saying that one twig is easily broken but a bundle of twigs is not so easily broken.

Chaim declares that as the threats from Hezbollah increase in the North, the Israeli tribe is determined to stand strong and defend this border. Chaim asks his viewers to join him in praying for the IDF to be strengthened and protected as they face this threat.

In this context, he quotes Psalms 80:2-3; Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, stir up Your strength, and come and save us! Restore us, O God; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!
