Day 266 Swords of Iron – Shabbat

Chaim begins the video by talking about how when Shabbat comes he’s moved to think about wars he’s been called up to fight in over the years, where he and his comrades were singing Shabbat songs in bombed-out buildings, but it’s good to honor Shabbat in all places and circumstances.

He thinks about how in normative communities, everyone dresses up in their best clothes to welcome in the Shabbat, fathers pronounce blessings on their wives and children, communities gather together, and he sings song like “Our Father and our King” which Chaim proceeds to sing even as he’s standing in the middle of a battlefield in Rafah.

In this context, Chaim quotes Genesis 14:20 in which Melchizedek blesses Abraham by saying “And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”

Chaim concludes by asking his viewers to pray for the IDF during this difficult time, especially as they celebrate Shabbat amidst the battle.

(Day 744) Swords of Iron – “The yellow line is a red line!”

Chaim starts by saying that he was hoping the peace was real, as were we all, but he can’t say it’s real yet because he doesn’t see the reality of it. There’s still a battle going on, and two IDF soldiers died in that battle this week. Their names, which Chaim mentions, are Major Yaniv Kula and Sgt. Etai Yavetz.

(Day 743) Swords of Iron – “Not Surprised – They Broke the Ceasefire”

Chaim starts by saying he’s on a short break from the IDF, in civilian clothes at home with his family in the Galilee. But Hamas has violated the ceasefire and it might break down completely soon. Chaim says that Hamas doesn’t really WANT a ceasefire, because they’re a death cult and if the war continues, there will be more death and that’s what they really want.

(Day 742) Swords of Iron – “What these words mean”

Chaim starts by saying that it’s a good thing that Israel is winning on the kinetic battlefields, on the media battlefield, it’s a different story. The Western world, in general, is in very bad shape and as an example, Chaim points to a recent incident in which a man stood up on a flight to Glasgow, Scotland, and shouted threats to destroy the plane and said it was because of “Trump” and other things like this.
