Day 296 All out war with Hezbollah?

Chaim starts by mentioning the Hezbollah rocket attack on the Israeli community of Majdal Shams, on the Golan Heights, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children (he says at least nine, but it was later confirmed that there were 12 fatalities).

Chaim says that this is the largest number of casualties from a single Hezbollah attack in nine months of war. Hezbollah is claiming that it wasn’t them, but they had fired a barrage of rockets into Israel at the time and the rocket that hit this soccer field is of a type that only Hezbollah has. Other weapons fired in the same barrage hit a nearby kibbutz, while others were intercepted.

Chaim says that Israel now has no choice but to hit Hezbollah hard in order to restore deterrence and punish them for this attack. He mentions that the US is offering to evacuate several thousand US citizens from Lebanon, and this is one of many indications that the war is about to sharply escalate in the very near future.

Update (Day 932) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “Patience Is Key”

It’s been a quiet Shabbat, almost eerily quiet. Is it the calm before the storm?
Will missiles strike us again from Iran, the head of the octopus of terror?
Will talks happen? I’d love to hear in the comments what you think about brokering a deal.
Can there be a deal with Iran? Can the United States and Iran forge an agreement that ends this regime, their proxies, and the terror they’ve spread worldwide?

Update (Day 930) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “The Squeeze”

It’s interesting to think that one wrong move this way or that way can cost your life. That’s the level of vigilance required when serving in the army, especially over a long period. You have to remember that the lives of your friends are in your hands. Be alert. Be awake. Be ready.

Update (Day 929) Swords of Iron-Lion’s Roar “Independence Day-And What’s Next”

Wow—over 3,000 years old and 78 years young. Israel, you’re looking miraculously beautiful. Just think of the number of miracles that have taken place over these 78 years. I could talk about them endlessly—the innovations, the rising GDP—and through it all, it’s been miraculous.
There’s still a journey ahead before peace is fully restored, but we will remain strong.
