Day 388 Swords of Iron – “Hostage Deal”

Chaim starts the video by mentioning the plan Egypt has proposed for there to be a 2 day cease fire in Gaza in exchange for four Israeli hostages. This would be followed by a longer cease-fire and the plan is for there to be a longer-term cease-fire. Chaim says that the CIA Director and the Mossad director are both on their way to Qatar for talks aimed at ending the war and freeing the remaining hostages.

Chaim says that there has been a lot of sacrifice and hard work put into Israel getting to this point and it would be absolutely unacceptable to throw all that away just to get a short respite from the problems and terrorism that Hamas and Hezbollah are capable of. He mentions that he is now in Lebanon, again, after having fought there in the Second Lebanon War in 2006. He says that that war was also a result of Israel making a hasty decision to evacuate the buffer zone in southern Lebanon in 2000, which it had held since 1985.

Chaim says that a way must be found to both return the hostages and win the war. In this context he quotes Zechariah 12:6; In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem.

Chaim concludes by urging his viewers to stay strong, mentally and physically, and “see this through.”

(Day 734) Swords of Iron – The hostages are coming home!

Chaim starts by saying that he’s in Jerusalem (wearing civilian clothes) and he is so excited because the deal to release the remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza has been signed and finalized. The hostages will be able to celebrate at least the last day or maybe two days of Succot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

(Day 731) Swords of Iron – “Where are the hostages?”

Chaim starts by talking about how he’s been mobilized in this war for two years, which is 10% of his adult life, and he’s seen and participated in many of the war’s most well-known campaigns. However, now is a special time because it is the Feast of Tabernacles and it’s time for the people of Israel to build temporary, flimsy structures to remind ourselves of the Exodus from Egypt when God watched over us and protected and provided for us despite the desperately insecure situation we were in.
