Day 469 Swords of Iron – “History is being made right NOW!!!”
Chaim starts out the video talking about how the Middle East seems to love suspense, and as an example, he talks about how Hamas is keeping everyone wondering which of the Israeli hostages will be released in the upcoming ceasefire deal.
There are also some delays on Israel’s side as legal challenges to the agreement must be allowed to play out and there is also some political wrangling going on as some of Israel’s political factions in the Knesset are fiercely opposed to the agreement and are threatening to blot the governing coalition if it goes through.
In the meantime, plans are being made to massively fortify the walls and other defensive measures meant to protect southern Israel from another attack by Hamas.
Israel is also making plans to deal with the security threat from terrorists who are scheduled to be released, some of whom will be going back to Gaza but some of whom will be returning to eastern Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.
But Israelis are looking forward to greeting the returning hostages, even as the IDF continues to destroy Hamas’ capability to attack Israel in the future.
Chaim also talks about all the soldiers who have suffered serious wounds in this war. He says he’s only gotten a few scratches himself, but many have lost limbs or worse.
In this context, Chaim quotes Isaiah 40:1-2; “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”
Chaim says there’s a lot of darkness in the world, and he mentions the growing threats from Turkey and Iran, but also the growing problems in Western countries that are related to the Middle East. But he says he’s nonetheless looking forward to see what the ambassadors of God’s goodness in this world will also do in this season ahead of us.
In this context, he concludes by quoting Isaiah 14:32; What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord has founded Zion, and the poor of His people shall take refuge in it.
