(Day 557) Swords of Iron – “Joseph in the Bible was like a hostage in a tunnel”

Chaim starts by talking about the actions of the IDF in Gaza over the last few days, demolishing terror tunnels and thwarting attacks on the troops and Israeli civilians. Chaim notes that many of the tunnels and hidden weapons are kept in civilian areas, including schools and hospitals.

Next, Chaim mentions a released hostage, Omar Shem Tov, who made a statement about what kept him going when he was being held hostage. It included reading the story of Joseph, who was put in a hole in the ground for a long time and came out to be a king, because God was with him the whole time. Omar said that he felt God was with him when he was being held hostage and he said that he decided when he got back, he would do whatever he could to make the world a better place and to help other Jews feel more connected to their communities and to God. He concluded his speech by thanking everyone for their prayers and everything else they did to help him and the other hostages.

Chaim concludes the video by quoting Jeremiah 51:20; “You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms;”
