Day 130

Chaim begins by showing his viewers a heavy truck the IDF uses nicknamed “the Wolf” and then the scene switches to another vehicle, a heavy engineering bulldozer. Chaim takes some clay off the tracks of this bulldozer to demonstrate the way that terrorists mold human beings into instruments of attack against freedom and democracy.

He explains that in the Islamic narrative, there are only two kinds of places in the world. There’s “dar al Harb” where there’s a struggle going on between Islam and any other kind of ideology and a place called “dar al Sallam” where Islam has subdued other ideologies and established Sharia Law.

If the Muslims get to a point where it’s too difficult to continue the struggle, they’re allowed to call a “hudna” which is essentially a cease-fire, while neither side fights and the Islamic side regroups and gets ready to fight again. This is following the example of Mohammed when he was beginning his conquest of the Hijaz region of eastern Arabia.

Chaim says there are groups of Muslims all over the world today who are taking this narrative very seriously and pursuing the goals very earnestly. There are also, as there have always been, those who are resisting this movement.

He says that we have the ability to understand these narratives and the conversations around them. He says that these groups are even active in America where they’re using money donated to universities to sew the seeds for taking the struggle to the next level. He concludes by inviting his viewers to leave their thoughts in the comments section.

(Day 563) Swords of Iron – “Drive Terror Out”

Chaim starts by saying he remembers the day he got the call to come to his IDF reserve unit because the war was starting and he was needed. He talks about others he knows who did the same, even though many of them were very busy and had a lot going on, they all dropped what they were doing and ran to join their units. They all thought it would be a short war like so many others before it, but this war has lasted over a year and a half and there’s no end in sight.

(Day 562) Swords of Iron – “Fell in the line of duty”

Chaim starts by saying it’s always tragic when the IDF suffers casualties, and he honors Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, of Rahat, who was killed in action over the weekend. Several other soldiers were wounded in the attack, which occurred in an area that was believed to have been cleared of hostile actors, but Hamas had a tunnel that had not been demolished yet and some Hamas guys popped up out of that tunnel and fired an RPG at an IDF vehicle and then later as a rescue vehicle was headed towards the scene Hamas detonated an IED and inflicted more casualties.

(Day 561) Swords of Iron – “Name a Hero of yours”

Chaim starts the video by asking his viewers to leave a comment talking about who their heroes are. He then tells the story of one of his personal heroes, Fredreich Bonhoofer, who was a pastor in Germany who publicly stood against the Nazi regime and was also involved in the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in July 1944. His great legacy is that although he was a pacifist, he said that to not take action in the face of evil, and to not speak out in the face of evil, was to support evil and to become evil.
