Swords of Iron Day 1060 proves a point I wish were not true. Just when it looked as though things were quieting down and this war might be heading toward a conclusion, Iran reached out and attacked a Gulf state that wants nothing to do with this fight. They just don’t get it.
Swords of Iron Day 1060: Iran Sends Drones at the Emirates
Iran’s army claimed on state television that it had struck Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates with drones, saying it targeted areas where U.S. personnel and helicopters were stationed.
Here is the part Iranian state TV left out. The UAE flatly denied the base was hit, saying its forces intercepted a single drone approaching from Iran over territorial waters. No casualties. A U.S. official said there were no impacts at American bases.
But the Emirates did not shrug it off either. Abu Dhabi condemned the attack, held Iran fully responsible, called it a dangerous escalation, and suspended trade and financial transactions with Iran. Think about what that means. We love the UAE and want full and complete peace with the Emirates. Hundreds of flights run between Israel and Dubai. And Iran chose to fire at them anyway.
Missiles Aimed at Jordan
The same night, Iran fired ballistic missiles at U.S. air bases in Jordan, our neighbor. The Jordanian military reported intercepting eight of them, and in a second wave intercepted ten of thirteen.
Notice the pattern on Swords of Iron Day 1060. Iran is not only shooting at Israel or at America. It is shooting at Jordan and at the Emirates, two Arab states that have chosen stability over confrontation. That tells you something about who the real destabilizing force in this region is, and it is not the Jewish state.
Swords of Iron Day 1060: A Regime That Will Not Take the Message
President Trump put it bluntly on Truth Social, writing that “Iran is officially a Failed Nation. IT IS DEAD!” He pointed to a leadership willing to kill its own protesters, more than 100,000 dead by his count, a collapsing currency, inflation around 300 percent, and soldiers and police who are not being paid.
Let me be as clear as I can be. That is not a statement about the Iranian people, whom we love and who deserve far better. It is a statement about the evil dictatorship controlling them. The Persian people have a magnificent history, and the regime in Tehran is the worst thing that has happened to them.
Larak Island and the Mines in the Strait
All of this followed a U.S. strike on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, near Qeshm. CENTCOM said American forces took limited, precise action against IRGC minelaying forces posing an imminent threat in the Strait.
Understand what was being prevented. Mining the Strait of Hormuz would not primarily hurt Israel or America. It would hurt every country whose food, fuel and medicine move through that waterway. The IRGC acknowledged casualties and threatened retaliation, and then delivered it against Jordan and the Emirates. The message from Washington was simple, and I agree with it: no.
The Same Ideology, Smuggling Into Gaza
You see the same contempt for ordinary people in Gaza. Inspectors at the Kerem Shalom crossing found roughly a hundred bottles of liquid nicotine concealed inside drinks in a shipment labeled humanitarian aid. The truck was seized and the company’s permit to send aid into Gaza was suspended.
Sit with the arithmetic of that for a second. Somebody looked at a humanitarian aid corridor, in the middle of a war, with the world screaming about famine, and saw a smuggling route worth using. Meanwhile Israel is accused of manufacturing starvation while large volumes of food go in every day. The propaganda and the accusations continue, and the trucks keep getting searched for a reason.
Swords of Iron Day 1060: Sharing the Burden at Home
There is better news inside Israel. The IDF has been running a major ultra-Orthodox recruitment cycle, with recruits arriving at Tel Hashomer and officers describing it as the largest haredi enlistment in recent years. Reporting from the induction days counts more than 210 going into combat roles and over 140 more into combat support.
They are joining frameworks built for religious soldiers: the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, the Hasmonean Brigade, the Hetz Company within the Paratroopers’ 202nd Battalion, and haredi tracks in the Air Force and Border Police.
That matters more than a number on a page. Every one of those frameworks exists so that a young man can serve without being asked to abandon how he lives. The military is expanding them precisely so that the religious barriers to service can be removed rather than argued about.
Opposition, Protest, and Staying Together
There is opposition. There are protests, and there are people actively working to widen the split. Some of the loudest voices on both sides seem more interested in the fight than in the outcome.
And yet, somehow, through nearly three years of war, Israel has held together. That is not luck and it is not inevitable. It is a choice being made every day by people who have every reason to be angrier at each other than they are. We have to keep making it.
Swords of Iron Day 1060 and the Boundary God Sets
Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed. Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? (Job 38:11-13)
Do you see what that passage does? It puts a limit on the sea. The waves are proud, they are loud, and they still stop exactly where God says they stop.
And then it says the wicked will be shaken out of their place, like dust off a blanket. Not argued out. Not negotiated out. Shaken out. God will do it.
So stand strong, stand on the right side of history, and share the truth.
