Day 339 Swords of Iron – “Genocide”

Chaim starts out by talking about how hypocritical it is for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar to openly declare that he is eager to sacrifice the lives of his own children on the alter of jihad against Israel but then he sets as a condition for the hostage release deal that his life will be spared.

He also talks about the shofar blasts leading up to the Day of Atonement. In this context he quotes Number 9:10; When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

He also says he wants to push back against some of the big lies that are being thrown around, especially the lie that Israel is committing a “genocide” and that the US is helping with it.

Chaim mentions that the terrorists of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad hide amidst civilians, guaranteeing that when Israeli soldiers fire on the terrorists, Palestinian civilians will be hit.

Government leaders in several Western countries have also pushed back against the lie that Israel is committing a “genocide” but some non-Western governments and many NGOs and others have repeated it endlessly.

Chaim goes into an historical explanation of how the term “genocide” came to be and the body of international law that pertains to it. He also explains some of the legal reasons why this term can’t be applied to Israel’s war of self-defense in Gaza.

He gives five responses that can be given to the accusation that Israel is committing “genocide” in the Gaza Strip.

  1. The IDF has done more to avoid civilian casualties than any army in human history. This includes sending warnings to civilians through various channels.
  2. Israel is making sure that food, water and medical supplies are being sent into Gaza every day. This is being done through various means.
  3. Israel has the military capacity to cause much more death and destruction through carpet bombing and other means, but they don’t do it that way.
  4. Israel is still bringing Palestinians into Israel for medical treatment, even while the war continues. Israel is also continuing to give jobs and many other forms of assistance to the Palestinians even after all the wars and terrorism that israelis have suffered from at the hands of Palestinians.
  5. Many of the people who were murdered in the massacres of October 7th were activists working for peace and reconciliation.

Chaim concludes by asking his viewers to be very careful to reject lies and hold fast to the truth, even if it’s very difficult, unpopular or inconvenient.

(Day 627) Swords of Iron – “Going Ballistic on Beersheva”

Chaim starts by lamenting the destruction in Ber Sheva that was caused by a last-minute Iranian ballistic missile strike just before the cease-fire went into effect. But, he says, he’s glad to live in a country that cares about its citizens and works hard to protect them, even if sometimes the bad guys land a blow. On that note, Chaim gives some details that are known about what happened in Ber Sheva, including the facts that the missile that struck the building was one of a wave that Iran fired and many more lives could have been lost if people had not been in their bomb shelters.

(Day 625) Swords of Iron – “Kaboom!”

Chaim starts by cheering on the announcement by US President Donald Trump that the US has joined the war against Iran’s nuclear program, defending the free world against one of its most dangerous enemies by destroying the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear facilities.

(Day 619) Swords of Iron – “Remember We Didn’t Start This”

Chaim starts by acknowledging that these are difficult times in Israel, with incoming ballistic missiles and drones, cruise missiles and other weapons. Hundreds of people have been rendered homeless and at least 25 have been killed, while many more have been wounded. Israelis have had to run to their bomb shelters on several occasions over the past five days, and sometimes we have to stay there for extended periods, but it’s very important for us to stay safe.
