(Day 559) Swords of Iron – “USA Delays Israel’s Strike on Iran”

Chaim starts by saying it’s Passover but nonetheless Israel is planning to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Plans have been fairly far advanced and there was even a scheduled strike meant to happen on April 7th, and then again a short time later. But both attacks were waved off by President Trump, who wanted to continue discussions a little longer to see if a negotiated settlement could still work.

The scene then shifts to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu talking about how Iran’s leaders continue to make threats against Israel while negotiating with the Americans. Netanyahu says the obvious, that this won’t happen and that it is Iran’s support for terrorism and nuclear ambitions which must be wiped out, the sooner the better.

Chaim adds that Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons is only one part of the problem which also includes their desire for increased control over other parts of the Middle East, starting with Iraq.

Chaim says the way to push back against Iran is with a countercoalition, starting with Saudi Arabia.

He also talks about how Hamas is very near to the end of its financial resources and is starting to fall apart, but the IDF is also feeling the weight of the burden they’ve born for so many months. He mentions that the Aliyah Return Center organized a party for soldiers in the Galilee and invited them for a little R&R.

In this context, Chaim quotes Psalms 118:10-12; All nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me like bees; they were quenched like a fire of thorns; for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
