Chaim starts by saying it’s been another week of war in Gaza but he has a pass to go home for the weekend and one of the things he got to do on his time off from the front was meet and shake hands with incoming US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. His first act as ambassador was to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem and place a note there that President Trump wrote.
During his remarks to the media after that, Huckabee declared that Iran is a danger not only to Israel but to America and the whole world. He also re-iterated the condemnation of Hamas and its massacre of Israelis on October 7th, 2023, adding that it is obvious Hamas would like to repeat that massacre over and over again if they could. He also said that the destruction in Gaza is the fault of Hamas because they started this war. He also said that the relationship between Israel and the US is not one sided, but both sides benefit.
While this was going on in Jerusalem, the US military was hitting the Houthi port of Ras Isa where they receive most of their fuel and other supplies they need for their war machine.
This is important because the armed forces of the internationally recognized government of Yemen are preparing to launch a large-scale offensive against the Houthis.
Meanwhile, the US Air Force published a video showing off some of their firepower. This is meant as a direct message to Iran that “if deterrence fails, we won’t.”
Meanwhile, back in Israel, Chaim says that more and more ultra-orthodox Jewish young men are joining the IDF. Chaim says that the army and the government are determined to find a way to make it work.
In this context, he quotes Joshua 10:10-11; So the Lord routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.
Chaim concludes by saying that this war is not over yer, there is still a need to provide IDF soldiers with the tools they need to finish the job, and there are also still large and even growing numbers of Jewish people making Aliyah to Israel from around the world, and he thanks the supporters of the Aliyah Return Center for doing their part to make it all happen.
