(Day 798) Swords of Iron – “Hamas Assault on IDF today”
m starts by talking about how it’s almost Hanukkah and it’s also almost 800 days since this war began and he wants to take a moment to thank God that he hasn’t been killed or wounded despite his many close calls. There are others who have not had such a good experience, and on this day, a Hamas IED wounded two more IDF soldiers. In response, the IDF launched an air strike which took out the Hamas second in command, Ra’ad Saad, and three other Hamas operatives.
Chaim says this gives renewed hope that this war could finally be winding down, since Hamas doesn’t have many experienced and trained commanders left. Furthermore, the “Yellow Line” is where Israel’s new security perimeter is. This is the strategic move Israel MUST take in order to secure its own population.
The Yellow Line is strategically important for all kinds of reasons, but Hamas must disarm on both sides of it, not just in the areas that the IDF controls. The US is trying to organize an “International Stabilization Force” that will come in and be a policing agency for a new regime, but that idea is still very shaky.
Meanwhile, anti-Semitism is exploding all over the Western world, particularly on University campuses. This is leading to a sharp rise in interest among Jewish people in making Aliyah to Israel and the Aliyah Return Center is one of the organizations which is ramping up its operations in order to be ready to help absorb all these new immigrants.
This means running a pre-IDF program to help young people get that part of their immigration squared away, getting people into Hebrew language courses and helping them find work, and so on. Chaim says this is the same struggle that the Macabbis were dealing with in their time. In this context, he quotes Isaiah 49:6; Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
Chaim concludes by calling on his viewers to join him in believing for a Hanukkah miracles, that Hamas WILL be disarmed and the light will dispel the darkness.
