Swords of Iron Day 1075: The Brutal Truth About NAZA
Three years behind enemy lines changes how a person sees the world. Lebanon. Gaza. Syria. Wherever the mission required. After enough of that, you stop reading the news the way most people read it, and you start asking a harder question. What happens when an ideology runs straight into reality? That question sits at the center of the fight now raging over the NAZA documentary.
When Ideology Contradicts Reality
Too often, people deny the facts and then attack anyone who challenges their worldview. When jihadist brutality contradicts their beliefs, that brutality gets ignored, redefined, or justified.
We saw it after 9/11. It happened with communism. The Holocaust deniers ran the same playbook. And we are watching it happen again with October 7. First it did not happen. Then the numbers looked exaggerated. Then the whole thing supposedly had it coming.
That pattern is not an accident. It is what a closed worldview does to protect itself from evidence.
Denial Is What Makes Dehumanization Possible
Denial makes dehumanization possible. Once inconvenient facts disappear, political opponents stop being human beings with names, families, and futures. They become villains who supposedly deserve whatever happens to them.
Radical revolutionary leftism and radical Islamism disagree about almost everything. Yet both dehumanize anyone they define as the enemy. Different slogans, same engine. That is the lens I bring to the NAZA documentary and to every film like it.
What the NAZA Documentary Claims
That brings me to NAZA, the new documentary from Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Zor, who are associated with the film “No Other Land.”
The NAZA documentary reportedly argues that civilian deaths in Gaza are the product of systemic Israeli policies, intelligence methods, and AI assisted targeting, including the system many reports call Lavender. In other words, the film does not simply claim that soldiers made mistakes in a brutal urban war. It claims the deaths are by design.
That is a very different accusation, and it carries very different consequences. You can investigate a mistake and correct it. A policy of deliberate killing would be a crime, and it would follow Israel into every courtroom and every headline for a generation.
I have not seen the film, and I want to be honest about that. But these are serious allegations. Serious allegations deserve serious scrutiny, not applause.
How the IDF Responded to the NAZA Documentary
The IDF rejects the claim that it is conducting mass killing. It also disputes anonymous accounts suggesting that artificial intelligence simply decides who lives and who dies. Human commanders and human personnel carry responsibility for targeting decisions, under military procedures and legal review. Software does not pull a trigger on its own.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has ordered the military advocate general to examine possible legal action. He established a multidisciplinary team to address false allegations, and he requested the complete film.
That is what accountability actually looks like. Ask for the evidence. Examine it. Answer it.
What the NAZA Documentary Leaves Out
Of course civilians in Gaza are suffering. Every civilian death matters. Anyone who shrugs at that has lost something they should not be willing to lose.
But suffering does not prove intent. Hamas has operated from and around civilian areas, including schools and hospitals. That choice is deliberate, and it makes this war extraordinarily difficult to fight. The IDF works to warn and evacuate civilians while it pursues military targets.
Both of those things are true at the same time, in the same war. A film that can hold only one of them is not telling you the whole story, and that is my concern with the NAZA documentary.
The Worldview That Cannot Be Contradicted
The real danger is a worldview that has become impossible to contradict. Every fact gets forced into the same conclusion. Israel is evil. They dismiss every contrary witness as a liar, a propagandist, or a paid tool.
That is not journalism. That is theology with a camera, and the NAZA documentary arrives into a world already primed to believe it.
Once people stop caring about truth, dehumanization is never far behind. We have walked that road before, and we know exactly where it ends.
Why Truth Still Matters
The Bible says, “Do not be afraid. Do not be dismayed by this great horde. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
I hold on to that. Not as an excuse to stop thinking, but as a reason to keep standing when the pressure to stay quiet gets heavy.
So watch the NAZA documentary if you want to. Read the reporting around it. Then read the response. Then ask yourself one simple question. Who benefits when a story is only ever told one way?
