Swords of Iron Day 1077: The Deadly Truth About Judea

I film these updates from places most people will never see, and sometimes from behind enemy lines, because the West still does not understand why we do what we do. Judea and Samaria is not a talking point to me. It is a front line, and it runs straight through my country.

Why We Strike First

Our forces hit Hezbollah outposts around Nabatieh. We destroyed what was waiting for us at Ali al Tahare Ridge. Those strikes protect my people, my family and my home, the same way our units do every night in Judea and Samaria. None of this is abstract for me. I have stood on ground where men were preparing an attack on a town I can drive to in under an hour.

If we do not act, the wave of violence from the IRGC and its proxies simply keeps rolling toward us. That is not a theory. It is a pattern we have already lived through more than once, and each time the warning signs were sitting in plain view beforehand.

The question is never whether someone is planning the next attack. It is only whether we reach him first.

Why Judea and Samaria Needs Proactive Defense

The Houthis now claim they shot down a Saudi F-15. Whether or not that claim holds up, it raises a serious question about the anti aircraft capability they have quietly acquired.

A group firing at ships from a coastline does not develop that kind of reach on its own. Somebody supplied it, trained them on it, and paid for it.

Because of that, we cannot sit back and wait for another October 7. The IDF remains a defensive military. However, defense that waits is not really defense at all. Ours is proactive, and it has to be.

Defending Soldiers Against False Accusations

Our prime minister has spoken about responding to people who, he says, deliberately spread false accusations against the army. I wrote about the NAZA film yesterday, and this is the same fight wearing a different suit.

The government says it is considering legislation and financial penalties for anyone who knowingly slanders soldiers with false claims.

Here is my honest caution on that. Lawmakers have to draft a law like this narrowly, because a government that can punish false speech can eventually punish inconvenient speech. I want our soldiers protected. I also want the law to survive contact with some future government I might not like at all.

Reasonable people can argue about where exactly that line should sit, and they should. Still, a soldier who risks his life in a tunnel should not have to defend himself against an invented war crime when he gets home from Judea and Samaria.

What Our Troops Actually Face in Judea and Samaria

So look at the work itself, not the commentary about it.

Our Yahalom unit and other elite forces dismantled Hezbollah tunnel systems built to threaten the Galilee. In Jenin, Yamam and other units have apprehended wanted men and confiscated weapons.

Operations across more than a thousand locations have turned up explosives, smuggling routes, rifles, pistols and ammunition. Every one of those finds was meant for somebody.

Judea and Samaria absolutely is another front of this war. Anyone who calls it a quiet administrative dispute has never stood there at three in the morning.

Morocco and the Other Kind of News

There is encouraging news too, and it deserves the same attention.

Morocco is moving toward upgrading its diplomatic relationship with Israel to full embassy level, with expanded trade and investment behind it.

That is exactly what I believe the Abraham Accords can produce. Normalization. Economic ties. Countries building together instead of bleeding together.

Notice how little coverage that gets compared with a single contested accusation against our soldiers. In the same week our units were working through Judea and Samaria, Morocco was quietly preparing an embassy. Peace does not trend, so most people never hear it.

As October 7 approaches, I want to remember what happened and still look toward a different future. One where the threats no longer come from Gaza, southern Lebanon, Yemen, or terror networks operating abroad.

The Threat Does Not Stop at Our Border

Those threats are not confined to the Middle East, however much the world would like to believe it.

In Germany, authorities disrupted a plot linked to Hamas that targeted Israeli diplomats, Jewish institutions and pro Israel demonstrations. The cell had reportedly already acquired weapons and ammunition.

Terror networks do not disappear because we stop looking at them. They simply move somewhere quieter and wait. The cell in Germany and the cell in Judea and Samaria answer to the same logic and often to the same paymaster. Germany caught this one, and that is genuinely good news. The harder question is how many similar cells are sitting in cities that are not looking nearly as carefully.

Why Vigilance Matters in Judea and Samaria and Everywhere Else

Therefore vigilance is not paranoia. It is maintenance.

We expose the threats. Then we dismantle the infrastructure. Our job is to protect our people and defend the free world right alongside our own.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.” (Psalm 28:7)

That verse is not a slogan to me. It is the reason I can keep going back out there, day after day, and film the next one.
