Swords of Iron Day 1084: Iran’s Deadly Nuclear Truth
Fourteen years ago our prime minister stood at the United Nations and drew a red line on a cartoon bomb. He vowed to stop Iran’s murderous dictatorship from building a nuclear weapon aimed at destroying Israel. Look where we are now. The Iran nuclear weapon question is no longer theoretical, and the regime is not slowing down.
Sirens Over Mecca and the Iran Nuclear Weapon Shadow
Early warning sirens reportedly sounded in Mecca and the surrounding area over a possible Houthi missile attack.
Iranian aligned Shiite proxies are now threatening the heart of Sunni Islam. I talked about this yesterday and I still find it hard to believe.
One thing I do know. Terrorists are not going to get away with murder forever.
Terror Has Consequences in Beit Imrin
Forces demolished a terrorist’s home in Beit Imrin in Judea and Samaria, after that terrorist carried out the attack that killed Uda Sherman and six children.
Our Yahalom unit carried out the operation together with the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit under the Samaria Brigade.
The message is deliberately simple. Terror costs you something. The same principle applies all the way up the chain, from a house in Beit Imrin to the Iran nuclear weapon program that funds the whole network.
People argue about whether demolitions deter. I understand the argument. What I can tell you is that the alternative, where an attacker’s family keeps everything and the victims keep nothing, teaches its own lesson.
Twenty Five Meters Underground in Qalqilya
We are also watching the threat move underground.
Border Police uncovered a tunnel in Qalqilya roughly twenty five meters deep. Inside they found a sniper rifle, an M16, ammunition, magazines, phones, a digital recorder and material that could potentially be used for explosives. Police arrested four suspects.
What exactly were they doing down there? They were not growing crops.
Twenty five meters is not a hiding hole dug in a panic. That is engineering, and engineering means money, time and somebody supervising. The same sponsor chasing an Iran nuclear weapon is paying for tunnels in Qalqilya.
The Iran Nuclear Weapon Push Nobody Should Ignore
Then there is Iran itself, escalating steadily while presenting itself as peaceful and democratic.
This regime has attacked or threatened countries across the entire region. I am not buying the idea that it can be handled as a responsible actor who simply needs better incentives.
Israeli sources say another round of strikes against Iran may be approaching. Work reportedly continues at the deeply buried Pickaxe Mountain nuclear facility, which is exactly the kind of site you build when you intend to survive an inspection and a bombing.
If Iran believes that activating its nuclear program will make everyone back off, I hope they understand the opposite is true. We cannot allow an Iran nuclear weapon, and everyone in this region knows what that sentence means.
The NAZA Film Goes Free
The NAZA documentary, which I wrote about before, is reportedly being made freely available online.
I am deeply frustrated by what I see as slander against soldiers who are defending this country and protecting our homes. Give something away for free and you are not selling a film. You are running a campaign.
I have no problem with hard questions about how this war is fought, and I would welcome the same scrutiny aimed at the Iran nuclear weapon program. I have a serious problem with a finished narrative distributed at zero cost to the widest possible audience while the response is still being written.
Europe Has Its Own Problems
Europe is not watching from a safe distance either.
The CIA reportedly warned that Putin may target tourist sites in France, Italy and Spain. There are also reports that Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan could be considered for United Nations secretary general, although Turkish officials deny it.
I have to ask the obvious question. Has the world gone completely upside down?
The Iran Nuclear Weapon Story the UN Will Not Tell
At the United Nations, delegates attack Israel constantly while October 7 gets minimized or quietly forgotten.
Even Jordan’s King Abdullah II spent much of his address criticizing Israel. Antisemitism and political hostility have become a kind of global pastime with a seat at every institution.
But I am not going to be shaken by any of it.
Proverbs says it better than I can. The horse is prepared against the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord.
