Chaim starts out by quoting Psalms 91:4; He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
The scene shows a montage of images from the fighting in Gaza as Chaim declares that he and his comrades are tired, but they will continue the mission of searching for the hostages and destroying the threat to Israel from Hamas. He says this is not just a fight for Israel’s security, this is a fight for freedom all over the world.
He mentions also that clashes between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group on the northern border continue to escalate, even while Iran’s other proxy in Yemen, the Houthis, continue to fire on commercial shipping in the Red Sea. A coalition of mostly Western countries have sent warships to the area to protect commercial ships and attack the Houthis, but this hasn’t stopped their attacks.
At the same time, Iran has directly attacked anti-regime forces in neighboring Iraq, Syria and even Pakistan. Iraq and Pakistan both reacted sharply to these strikes on their territory, even as ISIS also has continued to carry out terrorist attacks inside Iran. ISIS has also tried to carry out attacks in Jerusalem.
Chaim rhetorically asks if we’re on the verge of WWIII, before mentioning the latest casualty figures from the IDF operations in the Gaza Strip.
Next, he speaks about the rise in anti-Semitism around the world and compares it to epochs in the past century when there was also a spike in anti-Semitism. He goes over some of the history of the modern state of Israel, noting the fact that in each of these cases, it looked like Israel would be overwhelmed and wiped out, but each time Israel came through and continued flourishing. Chaim says that Israel’s enemies should take note, that their efforts to destroy this country will not succeed because God is watching over it to protect it.
Chaim notes the many ways in which Israel is prospering, having built a powerful army and economy, including a massive export market and even a space program. He declares that Israel is part of the family of free, democratically governed Western countries.
Chaim continues listing examples of countries, empires, ideologies, etc. who swore they’d wipe Israel out, but they all came and went from the world stage and Israel is still here.
He says Israelis won’t be afraid and they won’t give up. We’re in a crisis now, but we’ll emerge from it stronger than ever and keep moving forward.
